# A people problem is active. Your handbook says nothing about it.

Bring the handbook gap to Fidelic. The work order connects each proposed policy change to a current source, a redline, an accountable reviewer, and the states where the rule applies.

## What is at stake

An owner often opens the handbook after a leave request, complaint, safety issue, remote-work dispute, or move into a new state. That is the worst time to discover that the policy is old, copied from another company, or silent.

## What a useful result looks like

The work order produces a sourced redline and review queue. It does not decide an active employment matter or promise that a handbook makes the company compliant.

## The work product

- State-by-state requirement checklist
- Handbook redline
- Change log with direct sources
- Policy acknowledgment packet
- Issue-specific documentation checklist
- Annual review calendar

## The work sequence

1. **Name the states and the event:** Record where employees work, which policy is in question, and whether an active incident needs counsel before a document change.
2. **Build the source record:** Use current federal and state agency material. Keep each proposed change linked to the rule or guidance that caused it.
3. **Prepare the redline:** Show the old language, proposed language, reason for the change, affected employees, and reviewer.
4. **Route legal and owner review:** Hold legal judgments, active disputes, termination decisions, and final policy approval for the accountable people.

## Current source record

- [U.S. Department of Labor small-business assistance](https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/compliance-assistance/small-business): The Department of Labor directs small businesses to federal requirements and to applicable state labor laws.
- [California workplace violence prevention guidance](https://dir.ca.gov/dosh/Workplace-Violence/General-Industry.html): California requires covered employers to establish, implement, and maintain a written workplace violence prevention plan.

## Limits

- Fidelic cannot give legal advice or promise legal compliance.
- Fidelic cannot investigate an incident or decide whether to terminate a person.
- Fidelic cannot replace employment counsel.
- The employer remains responsible for policy approval, communication, and lawful use.

## Send the work request

Start with the states involved and the policy that is missing or outdated. Do not send employee names, medical facts, complaint details, or active case files through the first form.
