Sign up for Claude Pro for website work in Slack

Claude Pro costs $20 a month in the US with monthly billing and includes Claude Code. A small business owner or nonprofit operator can use that subscription for Claude Code's documented individual-account Slack route. Start with one website correction: FARO identifies a discoverability gap, you approve the assignment, and Claude prepares a proposed change. Hiring FARO is a separate purchase. Anthropic's Pro plan

Pro is sufficient for plan eligibility, not a complete website connection. You still need Claude Code Web, a GitHub working folder, and Slack account linking. Your Claude subscription does not include a fidelic agent, your website hosting, or separately billed services. Compare FidelicAI's role-specific rates before choosing an engagement. You do not need Claude Pro simply to hire FARO; it is for the Claude coding-helper path described here.

1. Create your account and subscribe to Pro

Have an email address you control and your payment details ready. Use your browser so the account and billing choice are visible in one place. If you already have Pro or Max, skip the purchase and check the account in Step 2.

1. Open Claude. Use your email or Google sign-in and complete any account verification.
2. Open your name or initials at the lower left, then Settings → Billing.
3. Select Upgrade plan, then Get Pro plan.
4. Choose monthly for the $20 US monthly option. Check that annual billing is not selected if you do not want an upfront year.
5. Review the account email, total including any tax, and renewal terms. Enter payment details and select Subscribe only when those match your choice.

These menu labels follow Anthropic's browser signup instructions. The subscription renews automatically until canceled. A nonprofit should check who will own the individual account before paying; one person's Pro plan is not a shared organization subscription.

Done when: Billing shows an active Pro subscription, the intended email, and the billing period you chose. Save the receipt for your records.

2. Keep paid extra usage off

Open Settings → Usage in that same account. Find Usage credits and leave it off. If enabled, turn it off and confirm the change. Reopen Usage to verify the saved state. Anthropic's paid-extra-usage controls

With paid extra usage off, you wait when the plan's included allowance runs out. The subscription still renews. Ordinary Claude conversations and Claude Code draw on shared plan usage; there is no fixed promise of a certain number of website fixes per month. Anthropic's Pro and Max Code usage guidance

Use the Claude subscription sign-in route. Claude Console API billing, which charges programmatic requests separately, is not included in Pro. Do not add API credits for this setup.

Done when: the intended subscription is active and paid Usage credits remain off. A spending cap by itself is not the same as disabling extra usage.

3. Give Claude a working folder, then connect Slack

GitHub stores files and their saved history. A repository is one project folder there. A private starter repository with a README, a short explanation of the folder, is enough for the first connection check. You do not need to move your website or learn programming first.

1. Create a GitHub account if needed, then a private repository called website-training with a README. GitHub's repository instructions
2. Open Claude Code Web using your Pro account. Connect GitHub and authorize the training repository. Select that repository in the Code interface.
3. Have a Slack workspace administrator install the official Claude app. In its Home tab, connect the same Claude account. Select Code only where Routing Mode is offered.
4. Use a training channel for a small coding task. A Slack Code channel can organize the work, but it does not replace GitHub authentication or determine which Claude account pays.

Example: the training repository is called fidelic-website-training. Yours can be website-training. This is a real GitHub capture, not a Pro billing screen.

Follow Anthropic's Slack setup instructions if the app's menu differs. Select Sonnet in the available coding-session model control before website work and verify the active model; the Tag organization model setting does not control this individual route.

Ask Claude to read OWNER/website-training and report its repository name and README contents without making changes. Replace OWNER with your GitHub username or organization. Then send a follow-up in the same Slack thread asking it to confirm the same folder. Open the linked session and compare it with GitHub.

Done when: both requests reach the intended repository under your Pro account. If the follow-up fails or selects another repository, continue in Claude Code Web while resolving Slack. Do not begin installation or website edits through an uncertain connection.

Disregard the Tag migration request on personal plans

Anthropic retains this individual route in its September 14, 2026 documentation. No Pro or Max shutdown date is stated there; future availability is not guaranteed. Disregard the migration request, but investigate missing replies or failed tasks separately. Anthropic's plan-specific Slack guidance

4. Start with one digital discoverability finding

Digital discoverability means whether people can find and understand your organization in search, Maps, directories, reviews, and AI answers. Once you have hired FARO and agreed its scope, give it your website address, the services or programs that matter, the places you serve, and the action visitors should take. For a nonprofit, that action might be finding eligibility information or applying for support. Public evidence can start an audit; private search-performance evidence requires separately authorized access.

Choose one finding that has an exact page address, dated evidence, and a clear correction. For example, suppose a service page does not state an owner-confirmed service area. Ask Claude to prepare that specific change using the approved wording. This is an illustrative assignment, not a customer result:

For a GitHub-managed site, a pull request is a review page for proposed file changes. Check its changed files and any preview before accepting it. For WordPress, access to the starter folder does not grant access to WordPress. Keep the correction as a draft brief until the correct website connection and publishing process are established.

After your team publishes the approved correction, give FARO the live URL and release time. FARO can check the observable result against its original finding. A corrected page does not prove higher rankings, more traffic, or inclusion in AI answers.

Troubleshoot a silent or stuck Code channel

A Slack channel can look idle while a coding session is running, finished, waiting for input, or has not received your message. Open View session before deciding which case applies. If Slack has no session link, open Claude Code Web using the connected account and check its session history. Do not repeatedly submit the same editing request: a delayed task may still be working.

First reply works, then Claude stops responding

In a September 14, 2026 Max-account training session, Claude read the correct repository and returned its README. A follow-up in the Code-channel thread did not reach that session. A later fresh task selected a different repository. These observations show why both a first task and a follow-up need checking; they do not establish how often other accounts encounter the problem or what caused it.

1. Open the existing session. Compare the latest user message with the one you sent in Slack.
2. If the message is absent, continue that existing session in Claude Code Web. Check the account, repository, and active Sonnet model before giving the instruction there.
3. If the message is present, inspect the latest status or question. Resolve a displayed permission request, missing connection, or usage limit rather than restarting blindly.
4. If the session appears stalled, check Claude's service status. If you stop it, verify the stopped state before starting replacement work. A Slack “stop” message without acknowledgment does not prove cancellation.
5. Before returning to Slack, run one read-only repository check and one follow-up. Keep website edits in the working web session until both Slack requests reach the intended project.

Recovery check: the latest instruction appears in the intended session, Claude responds to it, and any earlier attempt is accounted for. An app icon, a channel status badge, or a successful first reply alone does not establish recovery.

Match the symptom to the next check

Anthropic documents account, environment, repository, and authentication checks in its Slack troubleshooting reference. A Code channel organizes the conversation; it does not prove every message reached Claude Code. Recreating channels or reinstalling the app is not a first-line fix for an undiagnosed missing reply.

Resume website work without duplicate changes

Before retrying an editing assignment, inspect the original session for changed files and any pull request, a review page for proposed changes. Tell the replacement session what was already done. Do not assume silence means that no work happened.

Keep the first FARO assignment small: one finding, one page, one proposed correction. Your team reviews and publishes it; FARO verifies the live result. If Slack remains unreliable, use Claude Code Web for the correction and keep the approved brief and result in your team's working record.

5. Use the hiring package when its connection is verified
