What Claude Code in Slack costs a small team

Budget for the Claude account, any Slack plan, channel usage, repository hosting and deployment separately. The right path depends on workspace ownership and approved access. Third-party amounts are planning observations recorded September 11, 2026; confirm vendor prices and eligibility before purchase.

Three planning examples

1. Solo small business proof

Slack Free at $0 plus Claude Pro at $20 monthly gives a $20 monthly software starting point before GitHub, hosting, tax, and any separately purchased expertise.

Done when: the budget includes the Claude plan, repository and hosting costs, and any separately purchased expertise.

2. Two-person company workspace

Slack Free plus two monthly Claude Team Standard seats gives a $50 monthly seat starting point. Claude Tag channel work then adds consumption charges controlled by the organization's spending limit. Annual billing changes the cash timing and advertised monthly equivalent.

Done when: both Claude users have seats, the Owner can administer Claude Tag and repository access, and an organization spending limit is visible.

3. Two-person eligible nonprofit

An approved Slack nonprofit workspace may receive Pro at $0. Two nonprofit Claude Team seats at $8 each give a $16 monthly seat starting point. Claude Tag channel work adds organization consumption charges under the spending limit.

Done when: both discount approvals are recorded, a Claude Tag spending limit is visible, and the actual invoices match the planning assumptions.

Buy the smallest plan that supports the approval model

Use the Claude Slack setup guide unless a longer record or administrative control is already required. Use an individual Claude plan for one operator. Use Team or Enterprise when the organization needs shared administration through Claude Tag.
